Fall Coming On

Fall is coming, the garden is winding down, the Presidential election is coming to the wire.

It's getting colder, won't be long now before frost covers the ground again. It'll soon be time to till the soil for next years garden and cover stuff up for the winter. The walnuts will be ready soon, the apples are almost there.

The election is scary this time around. Two fascist dictators running against each other, the one claiming to be a conservative American, the other acting like a Marxist "man of the people". There is nothing to choose between them. Ron Paul was my choice, but unfortunately not the choice of the American people this time around. I half way like Mike Huckabee, though he is a bit of a big government conservative, a sort of Christian Democrat. Baldwin looks good, as does Barr and Alan Keyes, but their followings are too small and divided between them.

People are too heavily reliant on their government. None seem able to take care of themselves anymore, at least not the majority of us. There are, of course, a few rugged individualists among us, those who are not afraid to kill an animal when meat should be on the table, not afraid to get their hands dirty to grow some food or fix the car. But we are in a minority in today's society, a new world seeking order, a world of children answering to the nanny government.

We need a return to individualism, God, and family. Away from our centers of government and down to the farm and homesteads. Until we find ourselves again, buy ourselves back from the crediters and free ourselves from the Government teat, America will not be the country she was.

Piracy

Music piracy is in the news again:
At the U.S. Chamber of Commerce conference, Zucker was also rallying the troops around the notion that more enforcement will fix the problem. As Anne Broache at News.com reports, Zucker said that intellectual property theft should be the center of attention at all levels of government, all the way up to the White House. The government should create a central intellectual property task force to coordinate enforcement, and also manage a grant and subsidy program aimed at getting state and local governments involved in the effort.
Center of attention at all levels of government? Is he kidding? With the threat of islamic terror, the fall of the dollar against the Euro, the looming energy crisis, we should be concentrating on music piracy? What?
I really do not see this as one of the major problems in our society. They claim to be loosing millions of dollars, but were this true, they would be forced to close their operations and seek another method of earning their daily bread. By "loosing money", they really mean their profits are a couple million less than projected. The entire music and film industry of today is the biggest con game ever peretrated against the people of the world. Until the advent of recorded music and the growth of popular music, the average musician was little more than a minstrel, happy to get a bite to eat and a pile of straw upon which to spend the night in exchange for a song or two. Now, they are not happy unless they are making several million dollars and influencing culture and policy at all levels.

Ban Guns to stop violence?

From World Net Daily, The grave danger of 'gun-free zones':
In Israel, however, teachers and parents serving as school aids are armed at all times on school grounds with semi-automatic weapons. Since this policy was adopted in the 1970s, attacks by gunmen at schools in Israel have ceased.

Government officials must be aware that if they create a gun-free zone, they are liable for any harm it causes. Why would those in authority rather see law-abiding, disarmed citizens die than risk armed citizens harming a criminal?

How the west will be lost

Christians are being constantly and ruthlessly persecuted the world over today. It is, I believe, the minority that are against Christianity, but they use scare tactics and shame tactics to win over a bare majority to their cause. The most ridiculous claim, I believe, is the theory that Christianity is the cause of more wars and killing than anything else. A short study of the reign of Mao Tse Tsung or Josef Stalin should put that idea to rest.

I believe that the adversary has a hand in the happenings in the world today; there is no other explanation for what is going on. Anyone, except Jews and Christians, can proclaim their beliefs where ever they want, in the schools, in the halls of congress, anywhere; places that a Christian proclaiming his beliefs would be accused of intolerance or abusing the separation of Church and State.

We are becoming weak, in the western world. We bow to all who oppose us, refusing to fight. We are advised to give criminals what they want, so that they do not harm us. We are to rely on the justice system to give us justice after the fact; the justice consisting of the criminal being given a so called fair trial, with all the fairness being given to the criminal, rather than the victim.

It is the same on the international arena. Irani criminals, lead by the head thief Ahmedinejad, have captured some British sailors. Following the modern creed of giving the criminals what they want, the British are negotiating with the Iranians. If it goes like the German angler, those sailors will be in Irani jails for a long time.

In the old days, just a short 100 years ago, this would not have been a problem. It is very unlikely that the Iranians would have dared to attack Britain is such a way. If they did, it would have gone very badly for the Iranians. The British would not have threatened to go to the United Nations, they would have demanded the return of the sailors over the barrels of naval cannon. They would probably have destroyed a good portion of Iranian infrastructure, just to make a point.

The way I see it, it is left wing refusal to fight that has been the cause of more death and misery in the world than any other cause.

How Much Longer

How much longer will the free world remain in denial over Islam. Islam represents the greatest threat the freeworld has faced since Hitler, and the Axis was just the three countries, basically. Islam is over 1 billion believers, who all, in varying degrees, hate anyone who is not Islam. I sounds like something from a Douglas Adams novel, but it is the reality.
Their beliefs, if taken as written in their scriptures, require them to convert, enslave, or kill all unbelievers. What is so hard to understand about that? Or is it simply too hard to believe? We are all headed for bad times if we do not wake up, and soon. It is the end of the world as we know, and I do not feel fine.

Real People

Listen to the mainsteam media and the leftist elites, you'd think all America is ready to surrender the middle east to radical Islam, but just listen to what real Americans have to say:
To the question: "Do We Have the Stomach?"
The general population of the US *does* have the stomach.

We just have to get the rest over the notion that we are "Evil" for doing what needs to be done.

Hmmm, you raise an interesting point here. The troops know first hand, and the public just knows the bullshit the press feeds them. Wonder if that skews the perception? lol

I'm standing fast, I think if we pull out now, terrorism will get way bad. Plus we need to build the trust again with iraq.

I think we have the stomach for it, i mean if we didnt it would ACTUALLY be like vietnam , that is what i see being the most important difference here

well first off, I HATE the media!!! they are SOOO negative. Take the opportunity to talk to soldiers who have been to Iraq and they will tell you, yes it's bad- but we're doing good things! HELLO!! MEDIA- why not tell us what we're doing, not just what the death count is. OK, media rant over. I think we should stead fast because I personally don't want the dang terrorists in my back yard, I prefer to keep them over there and if we leave they will follow. AND I am afraid that if the american people don't realize this that it's going to be vietnam all over again- we lost because the war was not supported, come on all- lets support our troops!

Here's the situation: Prior to going over to Iraq, American citizens felt as if we were the most powerful and militarily (if this is a word) dominant nation on the planet.

This was the same feeling during Desert Storm.

Most Americans perception of people in other countries is that they are naturally weaker than us.

If this is so, then what is staving off our country's total victory in all areas of this war?

Doubt.

Doubt raised by the media and politicians over the reasons we're fighting this war.

Doubt reiterated by family members to their children already committed to fighting this war.

Heck, even doubt being broadcast by soldiers and former soldiers themselves.

How are the other countries able to stave off the US complete dominance in these engagements? Simple: by denying the media and public from talking or going against their nation's efforts and having their soldiers believe in a concept other than that of themselves.

Call it wrong or whatever, but for the most part, this elimination of "doubt" is allowing countries that shouldn't even lift a finger against us to cause our military force some major setbacks.

And, no. It is not all Rumsfeld's fault. He had Generals under him.

I saw how we were treated after Vietnam. The American people since then cannot stomach a protracted war. Take todays' attitude to WW2, we've would have pulled out troops out of the war in 1942, after the American Army suffered a disaster at Kasserine Pass in Africa. The American people for the most part have the mentality that if we can't win the video version of defeating an enemy, then shut the game off and go have a beer! My take on things after a 22 year military career is this...remember folks: for those who fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know!!

These days the political parties fight each other tooth and nail....why is that? I am pretty sure that other countries see this as dissension of the USA? Or I could be wrong? This is what I would think if I was a foreigner living in another country and the first thing I see is Democrats and Republicans fighting over a few crumbs...the crumbs being political offices.
The problem is the bullshit liberal ass crap being shoved down people's throats by the media, and so many swallowing it. Our troops deserve better than that. God help us-the democrats are the majority now, let's just hope we don't get f**kin' Hillary Clinton in office.

I Just wonder..The people who sacrifice the least...Tend to Bitch the most...They Give nothing.but expect everything,,,,They DEMAND rights but REFUSE to place themselves in harms way,,,

I think there are a lot more conservs out there than we think... I was SHOCKED that bush won Colorado (where I was living at the last election) because everywhere there were anti bush signs and vote for Kerry signs EVERYWHERE I saw a total of 1 pro bush sign during the entire campaign, but yet - he took Colorado. My personal opinion is that liberals are A LOT more outspoken than conservs - hints why they're called that LOL! and if I have my way I will NEVER allow another clinton in office EVER! Plus I don't think the US is ready for a female president yet, I think it would be great, but I don't think as a whole we're ready.
These people give me renewed hope for our great land, if only our representative would listen to the real America, we'd have a chance of defeating the Islamic menace. These quotes are NOT from a conservative website, they are from a myspace type site called Cherry Tap. These are the thoughts and feelings of the real America.

American Values

Those six Imams who acted suspiciously on the US Air flight are still in the news. There are all kinds of theories about what they were trying to. Some thought that observers were only being paranoid, or racist. Others thought they were doing a test run, others thought they were actually going to attempt to take the plane. I read one commentator on Townhall who postulated that perhaps they were looking to be insulted in order to initiate a lawsuit, on the grounds that running a Jihad is expensive.

It's all horse manure, when you get down to it. It's time to stop this Political Correct behaviour before it gets us all killed . Profiling is an effective way to stop crime and terrorism. While it may be true that most blacks are law abiding, most muslims are not terrorists, and most politicians are honest, the statistics suggest that we pay more attention to blacks when looking to prevent crime, to muslims to prevent terrorism, and to politicians when we want to expose liars.

I would love to see America become what she was always meant to be: One Nation Under God, Indivisable. One nation, not the many nations she is becoming. Multiculturalism is killing this great land, the greatest the world has ever known. Hyphenated Americans will be the death of her. We should all strive to be Americans, sharing a common culture and common dreams, and a common faith. There are those of the minorities in America that do try to escape the multi-culti hell that has been keeping them down, but they face derision from their peers, subject to hateful "white on the inside" insults: apples, twinkies, oreos. But they are not white on the inside, but American through and through. They are not selling out their race, but taking their place in the great American dream, accepting the opportunities that exist in America for all men, regardless of race or creed. America has opportunities for everyone, limited only by one's ambition and willingness to work.

Christianity is still under attack in political correct land. Trailers of the new nativity movie have been banned in Chicago.
The so-called war on Christmas has been reignited with an ironic decision by the city of Chicago to ban advertisements for "The Nativity Story" movie from a local Christmas festival, fearing they might offend non-Christians.
Most Americans are Christians, worry about offending them! These officials are elected, aren't they? No Christian should vote for these people again, who needs elected officials who are being paid to be insulting? We need people in elected positions who represent us, who acknowledge our beliefs and represent our needs and desires. We do not need representatives who represent the minority.

Liberal Political Correctness inundates the social arena, with the motto: "Do SOMETHING, even if it doesn't work, or even if it makes things worse!!" You have to show that you care. It is a well known example, so often ignored by do-gooders, that to steal from peter to feed paul is still stealing and wrong. Walter E. Williams, on Townhall.com wrote in today's column:
In other words, once Congress establishes that one person can live at the expense of another, it pays for everyone to try to do so. You say, "Williams, don't you believe in helping your fellow man?" Yes, I do. I believe that reaching into one's own pockets to help his fellow man is both laudable and praiseworthy. Reaching into another's pockets to help his fellow man is despicable and worthy of condemnation.
The bottom line: We love government because it enables us to accomplish things that if done privately would lead to arrest and imprisonment. For example, if I saw a person in need, and I took your money to help him, I'd be arrested and convicted of theft. If I get Congress to do the same thing, I am seen as compassionate.
This do good attitude of Liberals does good only for their own conscience. They hurt people in order to assuage their feelings of guilt. Africa is a continent of problems assacerbated by Liberal do-gooders, who throw money and grain at the problem, which is stolen by the corrupt governments instituted by these same Liberals, who used these people as experimental guinea pigs to test their social theories, then refused to accept the results as showing the failure of their theories. Michal Medved broaches this topic as well:
Why Some Liberals Admire a "Suicide for Peace"
In the same way, liberals judge national policies based on idealistic motivations rather than practical impact. They revere the “War on Poverty”; despite the fact that it almost certainly harmed the long-term interests of poor people, at least it reflected governmental concern for the less fortunate. In the same way, leftists supported Clinton’s interventions in Bosnia, Haiti, or Kosovo because the President meant to advance the cause of peace, not to serve any parochial U.S. interests. On the most elemental and intimate level, liberals love feeding programs or other handouts for the homeless – even though they help to extend the cycle of hopelessness. Motives count more than consequences.
It bears repeating: "Motive count more than consequences". He goes on to contrast the liberal methodology with conservative theory:
Conservatives, on the other hand, focus on results, on real world outcomes, and appreciate those who benefit humanity even if they’re driven by selfish motives. Drug companies, for instance, save millions of lives, regardless of their concern for the profit motive, and those who build new homes or develop beautiful new neighborhoods deserve credit for their contributions, even if they hope to make a killing in the process. Yes, conservatives may express admiration for those who sacrifice themselves, but only if that sacrifice serves some worthy cause – saving people from disease, or turning the tide of battle in one of this nation’s necessary wars.

It is time for all Americans to embrace Conservative ideology, to fight liberal idiocy, to champion the honest business man, and to stand up for Christian values. It is time we all stood together, to find real solutions to poverty world wide, to fight tyranny, and to end discrimination. It will take all people working together, in freedom. We need to learn about how the economy really works, and teach real values and free market standards to all. End subsidies, let industries that can not sustain themselves die off, and make room for new industries. It will cause hardships here and there, but not as much as the current state of affairs.
